Functional Description

5464-654 is a Discrete Output Module developed by Woodward. From field wiring, the MicroNet control can provide discrete outputs to the prime mover. Each Discrete Output (DO) module can independently control outputs in response to CPU module commands. These modules lack potentiometers and do not require calibration. A module can be replaced with another module with the same part number with no modifications. The Module has two different FTM I/O configurations.

Installation

• The modules are inserted into card guides in the control's chassis and connected to the motherboard. Two screws, one at the top and one at the bottom of the front panel, hold the modules in place. There are also two handles at the top and bottom of the module that, when toggled (pushed outward), move the modules out just far enough for the boards to disengage the motherboard connectors.
• This module receives digital data from the CPU and generates relay driver signals that are not isolated. The system's discrete output modules all interface to one or more Woodward Relay Modules.
• These relays' contacts are then connected to the field wiring. The relays require a separate 24 Vdc power source, which this module does not provide. As long as sufficient current is available, a section of a multi-output Main Power Supply or power from a single-output Main Power Supply can be used. Each module is linked to a Relay module via one low density discrete cable, which is daisy chained to a second module via another low density cable.
