Application Description

1. Product Compatibility. This module's inputs aredesigned to operate with dc limit switches, selectorswitches, float switches and pushbutton switches. Thismodule's outputs are designed to operate with dc relays,solenoids, motors, indicators, and motor starters.

2. Connection to input or Output Modules. You can usethe outputs of this 1791-8BC block l/0 output module todirectly drive input terminals on a 1791-16B0 input moduleor 1791-8BC input/output module. The inputs on this1791-8BC module can be directly driven by the outputterminals on a 1791-0B16 or 1791-8BC block l/0input/output module.

3. Status Indicators. The front panel has 8 output statusindicators, 8 input status indicators, one communicationindicator and one status indicator. The input statusindicators are illuminated when their corresponding inputcircuit has voltage applied. The output indicators arecommanded by the processor. The indicators are providedfor logic side indication of individual inputs and outputs.The comm indicator is on when communication isestablished. The status indicator is on when an error hasoccurred in either the hardware or software.
