Description

The 1756-M12 module is an A-Series ControlLogix5555 memory expansion module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. Its capacity is 750 kilobytes and its memory type is volatile. This module is suitable for use as a replacement part for increasing the memory of any of the following Allen-Bradley controllers: the 1756-L55, 1756-L55M12, 1756-L55M13, 1756-L55M14, 1756-L55M16, 1756-L55M22, 1756-L55M23, and the 1756-L55M24 controllers. Before installing this module in a controller, make sure the controller has been updated to a version that is compatible with the 1756-M12 memory module.

The 1756-M12 memory expansion module can function alongside an Allen-Bradley 1756-BATM ControlLogix battery module while the ControlLogix5555 controller is in the chassis. To prevent damage to the 1756-M12 memory board, the battery must be disconnected before the memory module is installed in the controller. No special equipment is required for the installation of the 1756-M12 module. Its memory slot can be accessed with a #2 Phillips screwdriver and the connector design of the memory board allows for fast and easy installation. The 1756-M12 memory board features an open type of enclosure and its recommended operating temperature range is from 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Its non-operating temperature range is from -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit and it has a Group 1 Class emissions rating.
